Helmonds new Town Hall brings together public functions, the official office and the board in one location. The building designed by Kraaijvanger Architects stands for inclusivity & sustainability. It stands out from its surroundings due to its very open character, clear form and the rich interplay of lines in the architecture that is inspired by the textile patterns from Helmond’s past. The wayfinding system supports the intended inclusivity of the building and also contributes to the architectural atmosphere of Helmond textile city. For this and reasons of sustainability several parts of the system are made of wood and textile. Furthermore the system is based on the identity that vanBerlo has designed for this special building for all Helmond residents. An pictogram set has been developed to match this corporate identity that makes the simple red signs unique.
